You've guessed it by now, I'm no Webmaster. I wouldn't know an internet if I saw one walking down the street.

That said, I would like to do what little I can to ensure that players of the competition are able to partake of the World Cup/Euro Championships "Experience" to its fullest. If passing on the fruits of my limited knowledge may help in some small way then, well, you know the rest. Thus, please avail yourself of the following information:

1) Completing of Entry Form

The Entry Form is an intelligent-ish Excel Spreadsheet (clearly not my work). Your task is apparently simple enough - enter your predicted scores for all matches through to the final, save the file successfully and email it to me well before the opening ceremony via the following email address:

football@whitewey.co.uk

Please note, as ever, the address is whitewey.co.uk AND NOT whiteway.co.uk

2) A little bit more

As you enter your scores on the Spreadsheet it will automatically populate the second and subsequent rounds with the winners calculated from your predictions. This is all well and good, until you've made the mistake of tipping Germany to come through as winners of Group F (and based your subsequent predictions on that) when it turns out in fact the winners are Hungary. Well fear not, you can adjust your predictions by emailing them through to the usual address before the later matches start.

Please note that the score you are guessing is the score at the end of open play (inc any extra time). You are of course at liberty to enter a predicted score as a draw, and during the knock-out stages where you predict games will end in a draw you can enter penalty results on the spreadsheet to force your desired team to progress (but this has no part in our little competition though).

At the end of the day, let's face it, I'm just after pairs of random numbers from you.

3) Bonus little bit even more

As mentioned elsewhere, the competition organisers are now providing the opportunity for really keen participants to provide guesses for later-stage matches once the teams are actually known - revised guesses to be emailed in ahead of time please. This said, unless you're the most confident of coves, we would still recommend that a full set of scores through to the final are sent in initially just in case enthusiasm for the competition flags somewhat after England's early demise and your huff leaves an empty looking spreadsheet. Just to note that any smart alec failing to provide scores for any latter stage matches from the outset and then "forgetting" to provide them prior to the actual match will be given a 1-1 prediction. Unfair advantage I know but them's the rules.

Well that's my lot, I'm afraid you're on your own now. If anybody does have any sensible advice, suggestions or comments on these or any other subjects then please feel free to let me know on: SensibleComment@Whitewey.co.uk.

Any other type of comment/wise-crack/mild complaint/general gripe about your lot etc should be sent to: AutoDeleteBin@Whitewey.co.uk.
